1. Fast's end

Arvind on Friday (April 5) announced that he would end his 14-day-long fast on Saturday (April 6).

Kejriwal's announcement to end his fast came a day later after Anna Hazare requested him to end his fast.
Anna said that Kejriwal's life was important to the fight against corruption as he has a lot to do for the society.
2 :ProgressTill April 5 10.50 lakh petitions are signed by people of Delhi in which they promised that they win't pay inflated power bills.
3: DANDI MARCH'S RECREATION
Arvind also declared that on April 6 they will go from colony to colony and reconnect the connections severed due to non-payment of bills.
This is the second phase of Kejrival's disobedience movement and is inspired by Gandhiji's Dandi march against salt act which also happened on April 6.
4: Health
Kejriwal has lost 8.5 kg since March 23. His blood pressure was 111/73, pulse 64, sugar 131 and ketone 3+ on Thursday.

AAP's rally to Dixit's house stopped at Pragati Maidan by Delhi police.

Around  8 lakh letters were signed by people of Delhi against inflated power and water bill.
In these letters, people promised that they won't pay the inflated and unfair bills.

Today(1st April 2013), on tenth day of Arvind's fast and AAP's (AAM ADMI PARTY) campaign against unfairok bills, these letters were to be submitted to Delhi's Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

However AAP's activists were cunningly prevented by police from proceeding to Dikshit's residence.

The protesters led by AAP leader Manish Sisodia were stopped at Bhairon Marg near Pragati Maidan and were told that all of them could not go to the Chief Minister's residence.
Police told them that only a small delegation will be allowed to meet Dikshit. 
AAP leader Manish Sisodia however insisted that the delegation would consist of 272 people from 272 wards of Delhi.
Later, police agreed that the activists will be taken to the residence in four buses but the police went back on their promise as on the way to CM's residence police , they stopped and told activists that they can only take them to Jantar Mantar.

Following this, protesters shouted slogans against police.

Sisodia also alleged that some of the party members were detained, but the police denied it.

Anna meets Arvind :complete report

Yestetday(29 march) Anna met Arvind who is on indefinite fast against inflated power and water bills in Delhi  for 8 days. Anna met him at the fast venue at 10:50 pm yesterday.

He suggested Arvind to call off his fast.

. "I told him we should not kill ourselves. These fasts are bringing awareness among people. People in the whole country have awakened now. In future, we will continue to tolerate till we can and then break the fast and once we regain health we should again stand up to fight. This is not a four-day battle. But a very long war," Anna said addressing the crowd at the fast venue.

"If a poor man gets a electricity bill of Rs 3,000-4,000, from where is he going to pay," Anna continued.

Arvind also thanked Anna for paying a visit.

Is there any media?

On 23rd March 2013 Kejrival began his fast against inflated power and water bills in Delhi.But most of the news channels didn't even informed the beginning of the fast.Spare the live coverage, there is not even the basic information of updates of fast projected on the channels.

If you are thinking that its because this is Kejrival's fast and not Anna's then hold your thoughts because the same thing happened in the July's fast last year when Team Anna was not dissolved and even Anna has participated in the fast.
In spite of  giving coverage to the agitation media is still broadcasting the JIVINI(life story) of Sanjay Dutt who has been sentenced to 5 years jail in crime of keeping illegal weapons and helping in 1993 Membai blasts.
This ignorance of media towards a particular case is not even unfair but also unconstitutional because as per our constitution its the duty of media to publish or broadcast any event that is politically or socially important.

If your think that our media is independent and cannot be influenced by someone to halt the coverage of certain event then you must again hold your thought, because if they are not slaves of some authority and cannot be forced then there is still an alternative to bribe them and shut their mouths.

Political lobbying is anther term that is used to link media with our politicians. Nira radia is an example of such lobbying.

Media nowadays is more about business and economy and less about social, political and moral reporting. Most of the news channels are owned by businessmen. This is not only the case of India, in fact it happens in most of the democratic countries.

Puppet players 

A general question arises who are the people behind the stage controlling these TRP eaters.

• Tycoons: "Give me money, I promise you silence" is the slogan of media for Tycoons
• Politicians: "With great power comes great approach"  is the slogan of media for politicians
• TRP: "Coverage is directly proportional to TRP quotient"

Apart from these Justice Katju (Chairman of Press Council India) is also not in favor of such agitations.
When in 2012, once asked about Anna , Katju do said that  he respects Anna as a honest man but doesn't support his "unscientific ideology" and campaign. If Chairman of Press Council doesn't likes such campaigns then reports on such campaigns can be easily supressed!

Wharton’s withdrawal of Modi’s invitation was ‘very wrong’: Kejriwal

 Arvind Kerjiwal while delivering the keynote for the Wharton India Economic Forum(WIFE)  in the panel ‘government and policy’ via video conferencing from a hotel in Delhi near the location of his indefinite fast, expressed his displeasure over Wharton India Economic Forum (WIFE) cancelling the speech of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi earlier this month.

Kejriwal began his WIFE lecture with the issue of cancellation of Modi’s invitation to speak at this forum- a topic he described as “something that is troubling me.”Kejriwal said he is not a supporter of Modi and disagree with him on many things . But his unease was on three counts which are as follows

1.  To issue an invitation and then cancel it under pressure is not right. It is very wrong. It is unbecoming of an institution carrying the respected Wharton name. 
2. Those who refuse to listen to people they do not agree with, they lose an opportunity to learn and grow. 
3. This refusal to let him speak goes against the very principles of free speech we are all fighting for.

Why I joined Politics?

Kejrival also tried to explain why he entered politicsHe said tt was necessary for him to enter politics,  as no political party seemed interested in passing a strong anti- corruption bill.
 “We realized that nothing would change unless good and honest people entered the state assemblies and the Parliament. We realised that nothing would change unless the politics of this country were cleansed,” he said.

Outsourcing of crucial services

He during the video conference neither opposed nor supported outsourcing of crucial services such as health and education to the private sector.According to him Handing over these services to private players could be good or bad depending on the  government’s ability to monitor the functioning of the projects run by these companies

Explained his category 

From the beginning of the Anti-corruption campaign, it has been categorized as leftist or capitalists. Commenting on this Kejrival said
"We are neither capitalists nor leftists. We are common people – aam aadmi. We have our problems. If we find a solution to a problem in Left, we do not hesitate to borrow it from there and if we find a solution in capitalism, we are more than happy to take it from there. We are interested in solutions, not ideologies,”

March 23(Kejrival's fast against unfair power bills in Delhi)

•  Arvind Kejriwal has announced a fast starting March 23 to protest against electricity prices in Delhi. Kejriwal has accused the Delhi government, headed by Sheila Dikshit, of conspiring with power companies to over-charge customers.

• He said that improvements in the distribution of powerhave accrued major savings for power companies, but these are not being passed on to consumers.(see complete report here)

March 31(Anna's Nationwide Tour from Jallianwala Bagh )

• Anna Hazare and former Army Chief V K Singh said the activists of Jantantra Morcha will embark on a nationwide tour from March 31 from Jallianwala Bagh(Amritsar,Punjab) to awaken people about the need for a holistic change in the system.

• The first phase of the tour will end on April 17 in western Uttar Pradesh after covering Punjab and Haryana.
• Anna Hazare said there will 34 meetings in the three states during this period. VK Singh said after the first phase, there will be a gap of 13 days and then the tour will restart covering Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and other states.

Anna Hazare rejects Arvind Kejriwal's invitation to join indefinite fast

Earlier it was thought that Anna may accept the Kejrival's invitation to join his march 23rd fast .(see here)

However, yesterday(March 21) Anna cleared that  he won't participate in the protest as he has nothing to do with party politics. "We have already said that we are not with any party and we are not going to fight elections. I am not going on March 23 (fast of Kejriwal)," he said.
Addressing the media, he also  announce a nationwide tour from March 31 from Jallianwala Bagh, he said Mr Kejriwal had visited him earlier this week to seek his blessings before his fast and invite him.
Interestingly,  before this rejection by Anna himself, sources from both the sides i.e ANNA(viz Jantantra Morcha) and Arvind(viz Aam Admi Party) have confidence over Anna's joining the Kejrival's fast..(see here)

Anna Hazare may attend Arvind Kejriwal protest

Six months after split. Arvind Kejriwal met activist Anna Hazare on Monday and invited him to attend his indefinite fast starting in New Delhi on March 23.

While sources close to Hazare said he is likely to attend the AAP protest as he will be in Delhi during that time, an aide of Kejrwal claimed that "Anna has agreed to fast on March 23, wherever he is".

Speaking to the media in Ralegan Siddhi after his meeting with Hazare, Kejriwal said: "I had come to seek Annaji's blessing for my upcoming fast. To me he is like a father and a mentor. I have also invited him to attend the Delhi protest. He said that he supports my agitation and will attend it if his schedule allows him."

Anna on his support to the fast said "I am not supporting politics. Today, people in Delhi have to pay a huge amount for electricity, water and cooking gas. This has made their lives difficult. That's why I am considering attending the protest organised by Kejriwal,"

Editor: We must admit that both Anna and Arvind aim the same, only their manner of achieving it is different. It will be a good thing if Anna supports Kejrival's protest. Both the political and non-political warriors need each other's support to survive the opposition and attacks by the corrupts.

REPORT(current)Today(4,March,2013) Arvind Kejriwal has announced a fast starting March 23 to protest against electricity prices in Delhi. Kejriwal has accused the Delhi government, headed by Sheila Dikshit, of conspiring with power companies to over-charge customers.
He said that improvements in the distribution of power have accrued major savings for power companies, but these are not being passed on to consumers.

"This is a fast meant to awaken people, to help them remove their fears. I urge them not to pay bills. They may be afraid they will be sent to jail, their power connection snapped. If you are afraid, AAP (Aam Admi Party) volunteers will help you restore your connection. If you are afraid, do not pay the bills at least for one month. No one can snap your connections for not paying the bill for one month," he said.


Editor's View: Many people may say that this is Kejrival's political stunt.
So consider this, if politicians can do stunts on basis of MONEY, LIQUOR, RELIGION,CASTE, LAPTOPS etc. Compared to that Arvind by raising problems faced by public, is doing a much pure and decent stunt!
