Barack Obama might meet Anna Hazare

US president Barack Obama may travel to Ralegan Siddhi to meet Anna Hazare this October during his visit to India.
In fact Prakash Shah, who is presently an advisor of the United Parcel Service, (UPS) Washington DC, and is believed to have served as the US president’s emissary for the possible visit, met Hazare at Ralegan Siddhi on June 1st.

According to  Datta Awari Anna's personal assistant,Prakash Shah has also taken Anna's book 'My Village My Pilgrimage’ after meeting him on June 1.

While there has been no confirmation from the US authorities yet, Hazare was told that Obama is likely to visit India in October and would like to meet him at his village where the US president could also see his work.
Even Obama has in the past praised the non-violent  anti corruption campaign launched by Anna.

In his speech to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) he mentioned non-violent protests in various parts of the world, including, seeking freedom and change. “We saw in those protesters the moral force of non-violence that has lit the world from Delhi to Warsaw, from Selma to South Africa,” said Obama. Although,he did not name Anna Hazare in particular in his speech but his point was clear.

Anna Hazare may attend Arvind Kejriwal protest

Six months after split. Arvind Kejriwal met activist Anna Hazare on Monday and invited him to attend his indefinite fast starting in New Delhi on March 23.

While sources close to Hazare said he is likely to attend the AAP protest as he will be in Delhi during that time, an aide of Kejrwal claimed that "Anna has agreed to fast on March 23, wherever he is".

Speaking to the media in Ralegan Siddhi after his meeting with Hazare, Kejriwal said: "I had come to seek Annaji's blessing for my upcoming fast. To me he is like a father and a mentor. I have also invited him to attend the Delhi protest. He said that he supports my agitation and will attend it if his schedule allows him."

Anna on his support to the fast said "I am not supporting politics. Today, people in Delhi have to pay a huge amount for electricity, water and cooking gas. This has made their lives difficult. That's why I am considering attending the protest organised by Kejriwal,"

Editor: We must admit that both Anna and Arvind aim the same, only their manner of achieving it is different. It will be a good thing if Anna supports Kejrival's protest. Both the political and non-political warriors need each other's support to survive the opposition and attacks by the corrupts.

Anna Hazare celebrates 75th birthday with underprivileged kids

 Anna Hazare on Friday(15 JAN) celebrated his 75th birthday with hundreds of children at a rehabilitation centre in Ahmednagar, around 40 km from his hometown Ralegan Siddhi

Anna usually do not prefer to have elaborate celebrations for his birthday owing to the drought in Maharashtra. 
But this birthday Anna spent time with children of Snehalaya, an NGO that runs a rehabilitation centre for HIV-positive patients, the activist's close aide Suresh Pathare told IANS.
Anna also ceremonially cut the cake 

• Hazare also laid the foundation stone of an English-medium school in Ahmednagar.
• The proposed school will provide free education to underprivileged and differently-abled children.
• Several other NGOs from the Ahmednagar district also jointly distributed one lakh books about Hazare's life and his message to the youth.

The NGO also organised an 'Amrut Mahotsav' ceremony in honour of Hazare.

Anna is fit and ready to resume fight

Anna on saturday announced he is now fully fit and will resume fight for Janlokpal 

TIMELINE

• Earlier on January 3 Anna was admitted to a  Sancheti hospital in Pune for viral infection
• Then on  January 29  he complained amout cough, backache and swelling in hands
  for which he was addimted in Medanta Medicity 
• On January 31 he on his demand was shifted to Jindal  Ayurvedic Hospital for Ayurvedic Treatment
• He remained at  Jindal hospital till Feb 19(saturday) and informend about his recovery  Datta Awari(Hazare's associate at Ralegan Siddhi)
• Hazare returned to his native village Ralegan Siddhi around 8.30 pm on  Feb 19

Awari said the villagers noticed a marked improvement in his health and theAnna has fully regained his strength. "I am fully fit and ready to fight now, was his first remark after reaching the village," Awari said
Awari said Hazare has been put on a strict diet comprising various types of juices, millet and barley water.
