AAP's protest outside Mulayam's residence

On 11th July A large number of AAP activists led by its convener Arvind Kejriwal staged a protest in front of Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav’s official residence here.
Matter of protest was the
mysterious death of a MBBS studentat a private college in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad town.

Neeraj Bhadana, a MBBS first year student hailing from Faridabad in Haryana, was found dead in the college premises on July 6. The college management termed it as an accidental death, saying the girl was sitting on the railing of the fifth floor and sudddenly she fell down. The post-mortem report, however, found that she was strangled and there was no fracture on the body, following which a case of murder was lodged against unknown persons.

“The girl was sexually assaulted and murdered. It is alleged that the college authorities are directly involved in this, especially the owners of the college,” Arvind Kejriwal said.
“This is not the first murder. Seven girls have been murdered in similar circumstances earlier in this college." Arvind continued
He said that the girls are asked for sexual favours and if the students don’t agree to that, they are simply murdered.
Protesters demanded
that the case should be handed over to CBI as people “don’t have faith” in UP Police.

The protesters also included family and friends of the deceased student. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has also interfered by issuing notice on Thursday(11th July) to Moradabad police chief in Uttar Pradesh on a complaint alleging slow investigations into the alleged murder of an MBBS student. The NHRC has given Moradabad’s senior superintendent of police four weeks to respond.

Aam Aadmi Party candidate Santosh Koli dies

Santosh Koli is
the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate for Seemapuri assembly constituency who faced a fatal road accident on June 30.
On 11th July AAP launched
‘I am Santosh’ campaign' in which party  will try and raise the entire legal permissible amount of Rs.14 lakh needed for her to contest the elections.

Santosh was initially admitted to a private hospital at Kaushambi, Ghaziabad, where she underwent a brain surgery. Later, she was shifted to a private hospital in Gurgaon. Here, she underwent a minor surgery for removal of a clot in the brain.

The party has already said they suspect foul play as she had been getting threats

Asked if the party was emotionally encashing Koli’s accident to raise funds, Manish Sisodia, AAP spokesperson vehemently denied this and said it is not just for Seemapuri, but such campaigns will be carried out for all constituencies where it is hard to raise funds.

“We are going to raise money from respective constituencies for each candidate. In areas where it is not possible, such as Seemapuri, we will collect from outside constituencies as well. This campaign (I am Santosh) is an online campaign by two of our supporters,” he said.
